Ecostruct, based in Chania, Crete, was founded in 2015 with the main objective of integrating sustainable development in modern construction. The company’s team of engineers and craftsmen, possessing high expertise and multidisciplinary experience, undertakes projects of any scale, residential, commercial or tourist character.
Ecostruct’s core principles are the integrated design approach, quality and timelessness of construction and, above all, ensuring the energy efficiency of buildings, respecting each time the requirements of the client and the needs of each project.
The company undertakes design and construction studies for new buildings, interior and exterior landscaping studies, as well as studies for the surveying, maintenance and restoration of buildings.
These include the architectural study, photorealistic study, economic and technical study – application study, passive building study and the issuance of the required building permit on a case-by-case basis.
At the construction stage, the company’s team of engineers and craftsmen undertakes the construction of new buildings, the restoration and renovation of existing ones, as well as required small-scale works.
The company’s engineers undertake the supervision of the construction of buildings, as well as the individual supervision of the construction or renovation of passive buildings.
By following a sequence of proper design, studies and application design, combined with the selection of certified materials and techniques in the construction, as well as the supervision of the project by a team of engineers and the Hellenic Institute of Passive Building for the quality assurance of the construction, we achieve the construction of a building that consumes less than 15KWh/m2 per year for heating and cooling (these characteristics are measured, controlled and certified by the Institute).
In particular, it saves more than 90% of energy compared to a conventional building, while offering thermal comfort in all its spaces and the highest air quality inside.
It refers to the pool in which microorganisms and plants take over the purification of the water, without the addition of chemicals.
The water is not purified chemically, with the addition of chlorine, but biologically, through biofilm grown on the surface of porous materials (gravel) and the roots of plants. This, in cooperation with the plants and zooplankton, consumes the pollutants (for us) and thus the desired water quality is achieved.
A chemical pool is not always easy to harmonize with a beautiful and green yard. It will always remain an artificial reservoir, unable to be associated with a rock garden, a phytosynthesis or even a simple garden. In contrast, the natural pool, harmonizes with all outdoor configurations, as it is possible to take any form, shape and layout on the site to combine with other water structures (streams and waterfalls) and enrich it with the desired flora and decoration.
